Austin Record Stores
Posted on March 31 2016
We couldn't leave Austin without a few quick stops into some record stores. We had a long list of shops recommended to us, however we didn't quite get to visit them them all. Here are a few of our favorite shops that we can't wait to visit again!
Friends of Sound
1704 South Congress Avenue
This tucked away shop was a surprise find for us- with a really friendly staff, and bins on bins on bins of LPs and 45s. We picked up some Bollywood and spent a lot of time pouring through all the soul, rock and hip-hop.
Waterloo Records & Video
600 A North Lamar Blvd
Waterloo is a big store with a wide selection of music accessories, turntables, vinyl, CDs, and a whole lot more. Maybe it is just me, but it really had a "Empire Records" vibe, friendly and quirky, with a great selection of new and used, box sets and more.
End of An Ear
2209 S, 1st Street
Diverse selection of new and used vinyl- lots of metal, punk and new releases. End of an Ear also carries equipment and instruments!
