The Record Tote | Kate Koeppel Design

Released in early November, The Record Tote is our newest product, and we can't help but want to share  it with you. Designed in collaboration with bad ass craftswoman GDS Cloth Goods in Oakland, CA, this tote is designed to take the schlepping out of record collecting.  Made with Japanese selvage denim, the sturdy but sleek tote has removable wood base to distribute weight evenly and protect your vinyl. Designed to carry a sizable stack of LPs, it also has a couple pockets to keep everything you need in place.

Atocha Design Record Stand via Kate Koeppel Design

Atocha Design Record Stand | Atocha Design

Atocha Design's furniture collection is the perfect combination of mid-century design and serious music appreciation. The Record Stand in the newest finish: walnut with ebonized walnut legs is our pick for the best record storage furniture. Designed to hold and display up to 300 LPs, every detail of this piece is carefully considered and beautifully executed.
The Record Stand starts at $1,275

EDA Mark 6 Record Brush

This simple little brush is used almost daily at our house, nearly every time we pull out a record, it gets a swipe with the EDA Mark 6 Record Brush. There are a ton of brush options out there, but this brush is a favorite because it really does a good job of picking up dust and surface girt. The brush is made with carbon fiber bristles which reduce static electricity, and picks up dust like no other.

Double Blank Art Record via Kate Koeppel Design Gift Guide

Turntable Calibrator | Wax Mage Records

Sometimes colored vinyl is too beautiful to keep tucked away and hidden in a protective sleeve. The duo behind Wax Mage Records have created some absolutely stunning double blank records for calibrating your turntable, or even just to display in your home. (note: These double-blanks aren't for playing, though they do make functional custom records as well!) Each record is handcrafted in Cleveland, Ohio, and are completely one-of-a-kind works of art.
colors vary, $50

Engraved Record Dividers | Kate Koeppel Design

Alphabetically-inclined LP nerds, this one is for you. Our best selling product, the original 26 panel set of engraved record dividers is the ideal gift for any serious collector who has more vinyl than they know what to do with. Engraved with modern and minimal Futura lettering, this set is sure to tickle even the most serious of record collections (and collectors). This set plays nicely with any of our genre panels as well, available in sets of 2, 4 and 6.
26 panel set, $410

Do Not Sell At Any Price | Amanda Petrusich

Released in 2014, it took a while for me to finally got my hands on the book AND find some free time. I read this book over a quiet few days this fall, and could not put it down. Quirky, fascinating and deeply detailed, author Amanda Petrusich explores the strange and fanatical world of 78 collectors. I had put off reading this book, because I wasn't sure that I wanted or needed to spend my down time away from the vinyl world reading up on another obsessive vinyl community, but I am so glad that I did.
$16 at bookstores

Orbit Turntable | U-Turn Audio

For months, this mighty little turntable is the one we've been recommending to friends and new vinyl enthusiasts who aren't sure where to start in the big, wide world of audio equipment. Starting at $179, this turntable comes in a variety of colors, and is made in the USA (we love that!) and packs a pretty serious sound punch for not a huge investment. U-Turn's Orbit has a ton of great reviews, and is an excellent investment, and absolutely outperforms its price tag.
starts at $179

Poster Pairs | Paper Jam Press

San Francisco designer and letterpress printer Paper Jam Press brings together two of our favorite things... good music and a great design. Paper Jam's hand pulled prints are bold and guaranteed to make any classic hip hop and pop music lover smile. Posters are available in pairs or singles, and each and every poster is hand-pulled in San Francisco.

Local to SF and looking for a last minute gift?! Check out Schatzi at 1908 Mission Street, they carry a selection of framed Paper Jam Press posters and apparel.
$49.99 for 2 posters

Turntable Kitchen, Kate Koeppel Design Guide Guide Pick 2015

Pairings Box | Turntable Kitchen

This pairings box is our absolute favorite gift for foodie and music-loving friends, because every month brings a new and fun experience in the form of a 7" single, a digital mixtape, several recipes and a speciality ingredient. Start with one month for only $25, or spring for 3 months for $75, this is one gift that will help keep the coming year full of surprises with these thoughtful pairings. Buying a gift for someone who is more of a coffee enthusiast than a home chef? No problem, Turntable Kitchen has a pairings box for that too!
Starts at $25-$300

Simple Wood Goods via Kate Koeppel Design Gift guide

Storage Cube | Simple Wood Goods

The Storage Cube is an excellent solution for storing vinyl on a budget, when you've graduated from flimsy Ikea products, and you're ready for a durable and stylish solution. A single cube is essential for small collections, but they're designed to stack, so with a couple cubes your storage can grow with your collection. The Storage Cube is available in a handful of colors, and the acrylic door pivots and slides into the cube. Each cube is handmade in Cincinnati, Ohio.
$95-105 depending on color
